Buddhism is one of the most prominent religions in India. Some of the major places holding significant spot in Buddhism are Bodhgaya, Varanasi, Sarnath and Kushinagar. Our neighbor country Nepal is also a famous religious spot for Buddhism. The places like Lumbini and Kathmandu are known for their religious value in Buddhism. This 15 nights and 16 days itinerary takes a religious tourist to all the major significant places of Buddhism in India and Nepal. This long but comprehensive tour is ideal for the tourists who want to explore Buddhism in a profound way.
Itinerary
Day 1:To Delhi
On arrival in Delhi, our representative will be there for your welcome and to take you to your prebooked hotel in Delhi for rest and overnight stay.
Day 2:Delhi
The whole day is free for leisure followed by a night stay at your hotel in Delhi.
Day 3:Delhi
Today after breakfast in the morning, we will visit the Sufi shrine of Nizamuddin and the Humayan’s Tomb. Later return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 4:To Varanasi
After breakfast in the morning, we will depart on Jet Airways flight to Varanasi 1145. On arrival in Varanasi, check in at the hotel to refresh. Thereafter in the afternoon, visit the Sarnath temple. Enjoy aarti in the evening and later return back to the hotel for a night stay.
Day 5:Varanasi
Today, early in the morning enjoy a boat ride on the sacred river Ganga as well as Christmas service at St. Mary’s cathedral. An overnight stay at the hotel in Varanasi.
Day 6: Varanasi
The day is fixed to visit the beautiful temples and ghats of Varanasi. Enjoy an overnight stay in hotel in Varanasi.
Day 7:To Kushinagar
In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Kushinagar (253km; 4-5 hours). On arrival in Kushinagar, check in at the pre-booked guest house for an overnight stay.
Day 8:Kushinagar
After breakfast in the morning, we will visit the stupas and temples of Kushinagar. An overnight stay at the guest house in Kushinagar.
Day 9:To Lumbini
Today in the morning, we will drive to Lumbini, Nepal (164km; 3 hours plus border crossing). In the afternoon, we will visit some excavations and museum. Later on return back to the hotel for an overnight stay in Lumbini.
Day 10:To Kathmandu
In the morning, we will take Flight to Kathmandu. On arrival in Kathmandu, check in at the already booked hotel. Later, visit the stupa of Swayambhunath in the afternoon. An overnight stay in at the hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 11:Kathmandu
After breakfast in the morning, we will visit Durbar Square and Boudhnath Stupa. Later return back to the hotel for a night stay.
Day 12:To Bodhgaya
Today, we will depart from Kathmandu to board an Indian Airlines flight to Varanasi. On arriving at Varanasi, our representative will take you to an onward drive (c. 4 hours) to Bodhgaya. An overnight stay at the guest house in Bodhgaya.
Day 13:Bodhgaya
In the morning after breakfast, visit Mahabodhi temple etc. After exploring the temple, return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 14:To Delhi
The day is fixed for visiting the Barabar caves. Later Board the train to Delhi. An overnight train journey to Delhi.
Day 15:Delhi
On arrival At Delhi in the morning, check in at the hotel. Later, visit Qutub Minar and Dilli Haat. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel in Delhi.
Day 16:Departure
Today, we will transfer you to the international airport to depart from Delhi and catch the flight for onward international destination.
